About this event
Participants in this all-day presentation will revisit the importance of writing to cement and transfer learning. Educators know that reading and writing go hand in hand as complementary skills that students need to master as they mature. The power of writing as a learning tool cannot be overstated and is a vital part of high quality instruction–one of KSDE’s four fundamentals. Come to this session to learn about the new KSDE Writing Tenets and how they will assist Kansas teachers in providing quality writing instruction. Moreover, these tenets will support Kansas students in learning to write clearly, express themselves with intentionality, and communicate effectively with their targeted audience. Expect to learn and practice evidence-based strategies that can be taken back and applied directly to classrooms.
