The Crisis Prevention Intervention training offers nonviolent crisis intervention training designed to teach best practices for managing difficult situations and disruptive behaviors. Areas of concentration relate to Autism Spectrum Disorder, Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports, parents and basic nonviolent physical intervention techniques and strategies. Participants learn how to identify at-risk individuals and use their fear and anxiety in a crisis situation or avoid injury when a crisis situation becomes physical. Participants are taught to respond to a variety of situations involving individuals with differing needs and behavior.
Participants should dress comfortably and wear soft-soled shoes while practicing techniques.
